Constant Cooling Ltd – BESCA Energy Assessors  - 4 July 2015

The Energy Assessor Schemes were introduced by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to comply with the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. This has been done through:

  • Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007
  • Buildings (Scotland) Regulations 2004
  • Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (Northern Ireland) Regulations

From 2009 it has been illegal to sell or let any commercial building without a current valid Air Conditioning Inspection Report covering all installed, in-scope air conditioning equipment, and therefore compliance with the required air conditioning inspections is mandatory.

BESCA operates our Energy Assessor Schemes in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and will accredit and register competent suitably qualified Energy Assessors for the whole of the UK.

The Energy Assessor Schemes are accessed through the Inspection of Simple and Complex Air Conditioning Systems rated output of 12kWR or over.
