As a business, what help can we get for energy saving technologies?

The Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme enables businesses to claim 100% of first year capital allowances on investments on energy saving technologies and products of which most modern air conditioning equipment complies.

Can you help me with Energy Efficiency?

Constant Cooling Ltd, together with our business partners, are able to offer an energy efficiency survey. The purpose of this is to obtain an accurate estimate of current energy efficiency and measure it against the benefits offered by new equipment.

What is a leak test?

Current guidelines and legislation state that a leak test on all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment with more than 3kg of refrigerant gas must be carried out a minimum of once a year by a fully trained operative.

Do I need to keep records of this?

Yes. Owners of equipment must keep comprehensive records for each individual unit, including annaul leak test records, results, waste transfer notes, maintenance records and breakdown service sheets.

Is refrigerant hazardous?

European legislation, impletemented by the Environment Agency from 16th July 2005, determined that refrigerant gas, once recovered, becomes hazardous waste.

Who is BESCA for?

BESCA is for individuals and businesses working within the building and engineering services sector who wish to:

  • Notify or self-certify work to the Local Authority Building Control under the Building Regulations
  • B&ES members who wish to access the expert services offered by BESCA
  • Professionals wishing to add value to their operations through compliance with recognised industry standards.

How do I remain compliant?

Constant Cooling Ltd become the hazardous waste producer as we recover the refrigerant from the customer's appliance. To ensure the customer remains compliant we issue a waste transfer notice each time refrigerant is recovered. All the customer needs to do is retain the document as part of the unit's history.
